What is the UV Index?

Summer is here! Make sure to take care of your skin by learning about the UV index, which measures the intensity of ultraviolet radiation you are exposed to throughout the day. Ultraviolet radiation is one of the main contributors to skin cancers.


Most smartphones have a weather app that shows the UV index. It typically peaks around mid-day, so it can be helpful to plan your outdoor activities when the UV index is lower.
